1. Once you have connected to the MUX, you will be presented with an opening screen. There are several different screens, but they all perform the same function. One of them looks like this:

create <playername> <password> <e-mail> Make a character
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

First think of a name for your character. You can change it later if you don't like it. Don't put a space in the name for now. You will also need a password. Keep the password and name somewhere safe!

Now, let's create a character! Type:

create <playername> <password> <e-mail>

When you want to disconnect from the MUX, you just type: quit. Then when you want to reconnect to your character, log on like you just did and instead of typing create, type:

connect "<player name>" <password>

You will see a bunch of text. Read it all. It contains instructions on what to do next. When you reach a point that asks "If you are new to MUXes..." then type

NEW TO MU

This will take you through a short tutorial that will teach you some very important commands that you should know.

Have you gone through the tutorial? If so, go on to the next section!
