3. MELEE ATTACKS
In addition to weapon attacks, Mecha are capable of a number of close range in-fighting manuevers, or physical melee attacks.
o Kick
o Punch
o Club
o Charge
o Death From Above
Physical attack BTH's are generally modifed by any actuator damage in the limb to be used for that attack. In most cases, severe damage to that limb will prevent you from being able to make the attempt. When attempting physical attacks while specifying a target, assume visual mods will be used reguardless of currently set sensor modes.
3.1 KICK
The command kick [l|r] [target-id] will attempt to kick the specified target with one of your Mechs legs. The target must be 1 hex or under in order to make the attempt. You can only kick if there are no weapons currently recycling in the legs, or after recovery from a previously executed melee attack.
Damage: attackers tonnage / 5
Damage Location: Kick Location Table
3.2 PUNCH
The command punch [r|l|b] [target-id] will attempt to punch the specified target with your Mechs arms. The target must be 1 hex or under in order to make the attempt. You can only punch if there are no weapons currently recycling on the attacking arms, or after recovery from a previously executed melee attack.
Damage: attackers tonnage / 10
Damage Location: Punch Location Table
3.3 CLUB
The command club [target-id] will attempt to use a tree to club the specified target. The target must be 1 hex or under in order to make the attempt. Clubbing only works when you are in a forest hex. You may only club if there are no weapons currently recycling on the arms, or after recovery from a previously executed melee attack.
Damage: attackers tonnage / 5
Damage Location: Punch Location Table
3.4 AXE
The command axe [l|r|b] [target-id] will attempt to axe the specified target with an arm equipted with an axe. The target must be 1 hex or under in order to make the attempt. You can only club if there are no weapons currently recycling on the attacking arms, or after recovery from a previously executed melee attack.
Damage: attackers tonnage / 5
Damage Location: Punch Location Table
3.5 CHARGE
The command charge [target-id|-] will attempt to drive the body of the mech into the specified target. The charge takes place when you move your unit to within 1 hex in range of the target. You may only charge when there are no weapons recycling or after recovery from a previously executed melee attack. Using an argument of '-' will end your charge attempt.
Damage: (attackers tonnage / 10) * (movement points of attacker)
Damage Location: Standard Hit Location Table, in 5 point groups
Damage to attacker: attackers tonnage / 10
Damage Location to attacker: Standard Hit Location Table, in 5 point groups
Also note that it takes time for a charge to "recycle" -- during this time you can not charge any other unit and you can not fire any of your weapons.
3.6 DEATH FROM ABOVE
The command jump [target-id] will attempt to land your mech upon the upper body of the specified target. You may only successfully attempt a DFA when there are no weapons recycling on either arms or legs, or after recovery from a previously executed melee attack. Of course, this attack requires jump jets on your mech.
Damage: (attackers tonnage / 10) * 3
Damage Location: Punch Location Table, in 5 point groups
Damage to attacker: attackers tonnage / 5
